FISH CREEK — It’s been a long wait, but the new playground at Peninsula State Park’s Nicolet Beach is finally taking shape.
Workers were on site this week assembly the new pieces for the playground that has been empty since the former equipment was removed for safety reasons several years ago.
“The next installment of playground equipment is in progress,” read a post on the Friends of Peninsula State Park Facebook page. “The Friends are very pleased to be able to now move forward with the completion of the playground after many setbacks.”
The Friends group has a fundraising goal of $120,000 to be able to complete the project.
