DOOR COUNTY — The Wisconsin DNR raised the daily bag limit for lake trout to five for Lake Michigan, Green Bay and its tributaries.

The new limit went into effect July 23, 2021.

Lake trout fishing will be open year-round on most waters. Check the trout fishing regulations for more details.

The bag limit is in aggregate with other trout and salmon, and excludes the Mid Lake Reef Complex, according to a DNR news release.

Lake Michigan is the No. 1 most frequently visited water in Wisconsin, according to the DNR.
