BAILEY’S HARBOR — An iconic Door County tavern is reopening April 1 under new ownership following the retirement of long-time owners Steve and Tera Mueller.

Known for it’s local atmosphere and garlic parmesan wings, the AC Tap is located on Wisconsin Highway 57 between Bailey’s Harbor and Sister Bay.

In a social media post Sunday, the Mueller’s said that March 31, would be their last day of owning and operating the AC Tap.

“I would like to extend our gratitude to our little community for 22 years of continuous support. We appreciate all of you,” they wrote.

“Monday April 1 will begin a new chapter in the AC Tap legacy. We will be handing over the keys to a very competent and excited group and we wish them all the best in the future.”

The AC Tap has gained added notoriety in recent years as a favorite watering hole of Green Bay Packers’ running back AJ Dillon.

Dillon fell in love with Door County after he was drafted by the Packers in 2020, and soon became known as the unofficial “Mayor of Door County.”

He also quickly discovered the AC Tap and has visited regularly over the years, sharing his love for their garlic parm wings on his social media accounts.

Dillon will return to the Packers in the fall after being resigned by the team in March.
